Editing saved games

Recommended Posts

In a bookstore in-game, I dropped a few hundred items from my inventory and now the objects make my game lag in that bookstore.

I wanted to know if there was a way to edit the saved game file to remove all the objects, or if there was a easy in-game was of doing this?

and also If I need to get rid of inventory and cannot sell it, how can i delete it?

Sorry I can't tell you much about editing the saved game files. I bet there is a way using the construction set, maybe even console commands, but somebody way more skilled than I would have to speak on that.

Why can't you just go in and pick up the the things you dropped (a pain in the rear I know...), then move them to someplace else? You could put them in a carton or barrel. They'd either stay there or be removed when the contents of the container respawn. As for things in your inventory, if you can't sell them, just drop them or put them someplace. I have my controls set differently, so I don't remember if using shift click is the original way to drop or not. That's how mine is set up. To drop something in my inventory, I hold down the left shift key and click on it. When I shut my inventory, it drops to the ground. If you open a container, you can click on each unwanted item and put them into it, so they're not in your inventory anymore.

Hope that helps a bit. Good luck!

If no one will buy them, give them away. Don't leave them laying around.

Use one or more of those crates that clutter up every city in the game. Just put your excess stuff in one and its out of the way. Then in 3 or so game days, assuming you have been out of that cell for the entire time, the container will reset and the stuff will be gone (just assume a beggar found the stuff and took it.)
