The KAR 98 is a great mod and I will try get permission to use the weapon in the mod but the MP40 would be a problem but im thinking about modifying the Chinese pistol as it is a Mauser that is German and modifying Fallout 3 guns to be used in the mod so it is less reliant on others mods.

I have found a MG42 and other Nazi weapons and I will contact the respective mod owners when the mod is nearly finished.

That sounds good man! It might be hard to find a Nazi flag for this mod though.

The flag will probably be easy, since there is so much public domain documentation of Nazi paraphernalia and it's just a cut and paste of the texture over the ncr flag meshes.

 

Although I'v been involved minimally in the scene for a while, I'd like to start modding more. With that goal in mind, I'd like to resurrect some mod ideas that I believe have a lot of potential. I think I have one that could tie in nicely with this request. Taht is If you'd like a more comprehensive back story, quests etc, than simply a faction dropped in teh Mojave. This thread (Of UFO’s, Nazis and secret antarctic bases) has a fairly well fleshed out (plot) adventure, back story involving UFO & Nazi conspiracy theory and takes advantage of FO mothership Zeta lore.

 

A quick (impromptu) summary;

During WWII the Nazi's spent untold millions in resources and man hours scouring the globe for occult and religious artifacts, symbols and information. One such find would almost turn the tide of war and alter the worlds history two centuries later. Several fragments of an ancient Babylonian tablet told teh story of the Anunnaki the "Star people"

It contained history of the Anunnaki, their origin, thier arrival, how they created a slave race called the Igigi to serve them, how the Igigi rebelled and a second slave race, mankind were created

. This became a Rosetta stone for interpreting many other occult/religious writings of various cultures, previously thought to be myth or legend.

 

After scouring the globe the most powerful and secretive departments within the SS finally found what they believed would turn the tide of the war. A ancient tibetan writing regarding the fall of one of the Anunnaki's sky palaces (and it's infestation with deadly dark light) in Antarctica. An ice breaker along with a German U-Boat loaded with equipment and a scientific team (as well as some of the best german special forces) were dispatched immediately.

 

There a base was established and supported via top secret u-boats missions and after weeks or months of drilling something was discovered deep under the ice. It was believed this would turn the tide of war for the Axis, but it was too late and the third Reich/age had already ended. Some minor technology did see it's way into German military applications (like the V2 and Jets) but the war was all but over.

 

During operation Ratlines, the most important Nazi commanders boarded a u-boat and escaped to the antarctic base (christened New Berlin) in hopes they would be hidden and could leverage the treasures that they had found to reinvigorate their cause. However the allies were able to eventually discover the approximate location of New Berlin and sent special forces to take the base. The mission (operation deep freeze) was a disaster with reports of unknown and powerful weapons protecting the base. A few days later in 1949, three nuclear bombs were set off in the area of Queen Maud Land and were triggered 300 metres above the target.

 

Trapped 100's of meters below the ice in an alien spaceship, with their only egress destroyed and only the possibility of death from facing them, the Nazi's/germans utilized the alien cryo technology to enter deep suspended animation, hoping that the they would be forgotten and the radiation from the nukes would have dissipated.

 

Unfettered by teh past and having some of the greatest scientific minds along with the alien technology they were able to survive in the harsh cold wasteland. They even pursued other lines of research, unrestrained by moral or ethical guidelines, completing their desire for racial/genetic purity. They arose to find a world changed radically by nuclear war and ripe for the taking.

 

Anyway that's the back story pitch. There is a ton of UFO & Nazi conspiracy theories to add color. The basic idea is that the courier and the Nazi's, now heavily fortfied by alien enhanced weaponry (including their ultimate defensive weapon Nazi power armor protected by alien nertia suppression fields), come into conflict as they try to recover important components from a recently crashed mothership similar to Zeta. If they are successful they will believe they will be able to restore many of the functions of the alien mother ship located in Antarctica.

 

Having escaped the couriers grasp at the enemy mother ship test site, the courier learns from a tortured alien, that the nazi's have discovered mothership Zeta is intact and in orbit above earth. Realizing that the nazi's plan to use zeta to destroy large swaths of non human inhabitants of earth with Zeta's death ray, all looks lost. However the couriers new found alien companion informs him/her that there is at least one alien recon craft stored at area 51 in the Mojave. So begins a race against time to infiltrate area 51 (where the courier and his companion discover the Nazi's are also reconning at this moment), defeat teh landing team there (the first of a 3 part mod). Recovering a small ship they must travel to mothership zeta to battle the Nazi's invading the ship (the second mod) and finally travel to Antarctica to invade the Nazi base, withstand the horrors of the Nazi experiments adn their full alien tech enhanced military force to eradicate the nazi menace completely (part 3).

That all sounds pretty awesome actually, maybe we can combine these mods? The UFO and Nazi one and this one combined sounds like a pretty good train of ideas. If these two mods could be combined like have the faction like I wanted and have some locations for them in the Mojave and then the ideas from the UFO and Nazi mod as like a whole new wasteland or differing locations

That is defiantly awesome idea but for a sole modder would take months, I have 2 main projects going at the present time and the Nazi mod is defiantly taking shape so i can work on the bigger mod I've been working on for about 5 months now.

The uniforms were taken form a Nazi mod in Fallout 3 but the user is no longer active on the Nexus so i will just credit him in the mod and the weapons will be added once the mod is nearing completion.

So far i have to do the main base witch will be in a new interior sewer and another base down near Searchlight.
I expect the mod to be released in about 3 days time depending on the response of the weapon mod owners.


EDIT : I will also give full permission to use what i have done with the mod aswell if devinpatterson would like to carry on the mod to add his ideas, as I simply do not have the time or skill level to commit the level that the UFO Variant will required to have to make it a respectable standard. But permission from the weapon mod owners would have to be required first.

I am also getting sketchy at how far to push the Nazi theme with the taboo and stigma around the Nazi and the NSDAP, but of course I will do my best for the mod community.
