Ranokoa
I am working on a mod currently that will need a mesh+texture of a very tiny 'star'. More specifically, a little shining speck of basically white with the streaks that a distant star has. This is needed for a mod i am currently working on, as the room it will be used will revolve around the idea of quantum physics, and moving through time and space. So, i need just a very low res star STATIC that, idk if it glows but that would be cool, that can be placed about 50 times without too much a cap on frame rate. So, i really mean low quality, but thats how stars would look. I mean, how do you make a high quality distant star? It should be about as big as, if not half the size as, a gold coin. All credits will be given, this shouldnt take long at all to complete, should be reletively transperant, and of course, white. I want it to look like the ones you see in the sky at night, barely there, but noticable. Thank you,~Ranokoa
xxXEvandarXxx
I made one, it has a glow map too, so it should glow in the dark. I don't know how it looks in game, because I haven't tested it. It looks like this in NifSkope from far away:http://i296.photobucket.com/albums/mm197/xxXEvandarXxx/distantstarnifskope.jpg If you want it, you can download it here: http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?tq54z2mmj2m Tell me it you want me to change something. Ranokoa
The distant star doesn't work. I found a series of problems. 1: I know i said small, but WOW. Lol, i guess this is my fualt2: It is flat, and one sided. By this, i mean it is like a peice of paper with a spec on it, and if you flip the paper over it disappears, making it excedingly difficult to surround someone with.3: It has a black background, so if the area in question is not black, it is obvious its not a star.4: doesnt glow. ALTHOUGH! I will say this. even though this is far from what i really need, it can still work with a large variety of other mods. But because of the specifics revolving around this mod.. which im afraid i dont want to divulge just yet, this is not going to work. Thanks anyways. Im most likely going to abandon the star issue altogether. But here is more specifically what i need. I need it to be a 3dimensional object, but this, i mean that if you look at it from any angle whatsoever, it is still a star. I need it actually to be the size of a gold coin, because half turned out to be too small, glowing is prefered but not needed. I need it to be low res and low quality, so it looks like it is even more distant than it really is.
Pronam
Some side-feedback:That it is black doesn't matter just look at my pics.. You'll not be near at all, so you'll never notice..Didn't notice them at all in daylight.... Cause they are that small...Almost every angle is good. Cause it is at the top.... Lol, you could make a 3d-object by placing 6 of them and creating a cube :P(A glow-map means that the object will shine in the darkness/enlighten specific areas, it will not change from slightly light to bright...only when you move yourself.) anyway....tell me when you've reached a certain progress level...;)
Ranokoa
Well... i didnt want the star for the sky lol. That was not my usage. I was actually going to have them surround the player, from the players height up to about 200 feet. The player being on a platform in the middle of the abyss, and the stars completely surrounding him, but in such a manner that it looks like they are everywhere, at every angle, not just the immediate surroundings, with the area of course being blocked by collision boxes so the player can not go and investigate then learn they are not everywhere. Ranokoa
Ok its about 95% done, put more into it than i intended, and all that is needed now is that subtle little script i mentioned, and the second location for the tower B, plus a small quest.. REALLY small. i mean, you dont even have to go anywhere small, but hard, needs to be done as well.
Hateful_kat
Well you know, stars are usually spherical, or that's what my astronomy teacher used to tell me.It shouldn't be hard to make the mesh a sphere, instead of using 6 of those objects to form a cube.
