wotan13
Have tried both vers. 2.0 & 2.1 This is the error, it pops up in a python dialog box: Traceback (most recent call last): File "<string>", line 162, in onPatch File "<string>", line 288, in onPatchWindowsError: [Error 5] Access is denied The program terminates @ this point. Morrowinds GOTY Steam version, program unzipped into the Morrowinds folder, overlay off, vanilla install, not in a program folder. Same code generated when run through MGSO or standalone. Win 7 premium OS. Has been ran w/ admin status, in XP compatibility mode etc. etc. Tried every combination, & setting I can think of (not w/ the settings for mods, only trying to install the default checked items.) Both MGSO & MCP d/led numerous times & the programs have been run over 20 times always w/ same result. Morrowind runs prior to attempting modification, not checked after the attempted modification, since it didn't get modded, I don't care if it runs or not. The registry has been scanned removing every instance of Morrowind & everything tried again w/ the same result. Thanks for your help & time spent. I'd love to see & enjoy the fruits of the labor & sweat sunk into this wonderful project.
bunniesgohop
I am having the EXACT same problem and have been desperately searching the internet for some sort of solution. As a small edition to the above help request and explanation of the problem, MCP never changes morrowind before it encounters the error, the game still runs perfectly fine after attempting (and failing) to run MCP. Spirithawke
Have you tried to move Morrowind out of the dreaded "Program Files" directories to somewhere such as C:\Games\Morrowind or C:\Steam\Morrowind (Steam users), and then tried to run MCP? ggonex
Just posting to say that I too am having exactly the same problem, and have also exhausted just about every possible fix I can think of. Hopefully someone will be able to figure this out.
hollaajith
Why not post it in official forums ? Hrchmand just updated MCP with new beta, so you might get your answers there. --> CLICK
