Fishystick
Tell me some "good" examples of rap, I'd like to listen to them.<{POST_SNAPBACK}> I've got three words for you man, ice ice baby :D . This is the point where I laugh at my own joke.
Morbid_Pathologist
Irrespective of the point that if most people liked that music, you probably wouldn't listen to it because the bands aren't so tr00 kvlt and evil anymore  Aside from that, I can imagine better BM acts than Nokturnal Mortum - I don't know what's so great about their failure in mastering the English language and riding the "Kill the Jews!" NSBM bandwagon, which is for me a reason not to listen to them at all (I usually don't care much about the lyrics of BM bands, but one has to draw a line somewhere). To stop the pointless bashing and at least contribute slightly to the thread: Sticking to the kind of music Morbid_Pathologist has brought up, I'd like to name Grabnebelfürsten and Nocte Obducta as two excellent bands that are daring enough to play a rather experimental and technical form of BM.<{POST_SNAPBACK}> okay, i listen to the music i do for a reason, with nokturnal mortum i should have been more specific, i loved their album Lunar Poetry, nothing more, their later albums which tried to include a reference to aryan beliefs in almost every song just made me realise how bored some people can get.saying that i "probably wouldn't listen to it because the bands aren't so tr00 kvlt and evil anymore" hurts man, seriously, i listen to the music i do for a simple reason, i like it, nothing more, nothing less, not because they swear or sing about killing people, what they sing about doesnt mean anything, its the music, not the image the band is trying to project. besides, i dont only listen to various forms of metal. Thankfully, you've showed me that my stereotype is wrong :)Accordingly, the rest of my "argumentation" crumbles since you do not listen to the music because you love the (unintelligiible) lyrics so much, but because you like the music itself (and thus fortunately belong to the group of people who realize that Black Metal is music, nothing more). Those people I referred to above usually also show the opinion that everything produced in an actual studio is crap, damn newer Immortal to hell ("Everything after Blizzard Beasts was sell-out!") and think that they may only listen to albums of which no more than 666 items have been produced. My apologies for my unfounded assumptions and aggressiveness - looks as though I shouldn't post about any metal topic after having read the Encyclopedia Metallum forums ^^The only thing that probably contributed to my reply and which I'd still criticize (if such a rough term can be applied here) is the question whether any description of the music was necessary at all. It's just that you can try to put the music into words, but if others haven't actually listened to it and know the genre, they'll probably think that you listen to some kind of metalcore (the hardest stuff most people know), thus any explanation can be left out from the beginning. (And as far as I am personally concerned, I also love the music itself, but I would probably have a slight problem if they played Taake or Watain on MTV; music that is consumed by great numbers of people often quickly loses its independence, and at that point you can truly speak about sell-out). I just felt that i needed to explain myself, im aware of the type of person who likes the genre for its theme and not the music, although im glad that it got through to you, thus explaining myself :) Those people I referred to above usually also show the opinion that everything produced in an actual studio is crap, damn newer Immortal to hell ("Everything after Blizzard Beasts was sell-out!") and think that they may only listen to albums of which no more than 666 items have been produced. i think nargaroth tryed to pull off the same thing, their demo being limited to 666 copies, fortunately they don't take themselves seriously I also love the music itself, but I would probably have a slight problem if they played Taake or Watain on MTV; music that is consumed by great numbers of people often quickly loses its independence, and at that point you can truly speak about sell-out). thats why im glad such shows like "headbangers ball" are not being made anymore. although i should be the one who's sorry, when it comes to the fans of black metal why they listen to it is rather unpredictable nowdays, i see too many people at my school listen to metal because its "angry" and something different, not for the music its capable of (with the exception of some bands, mainly in the grind/gore category)
