FCOM Problems

I have figured out that if i load OOO after fcom the items have their meshes, but that defeats the purpose of FCOM, so i would like to know if there is anything i can do to fix it.

Well I have the same problem. Maybe it is the way I installed it. /shrug Anyway, I downloaded a few tools (FormID Finder4, Tes4edit, and BSA Unpack).

FormID Finder4 lets you see IN GAME where the missing mesh is expected. The rusty bow, for example, is expected at Data\Weapons\MMMKOLrusty\daggerrusty.nif. Well that directory and file do not exist on my system.

BSA Unpack lets you dump files from BSA files (where I hoped the missing meshes would be, so I could put one in the above location).

Tes4edit let me see lots of stuff inside ESP and ESM files. It appears that my FCOM_Convergence.esp is what is using the Weapons\MMMKOLrusty\daggerrusty.nif location. I also could see that the Oblivion.esm file shows this file as being Weapons\Iron\Dagger.nif (the same FormID was used by the FCOM ESP file and the Oblivion.esm file). Well neither folder/file combination for the dagger is on my harddrive.

I decided to look inside the "Oblivion - Meshes.bsa" file using BSA Unpack. This just seemed the best place to start.

Well I found the Weapons\Iron\Dagger.nif Mesh by sorting by filename. I extracted it to my desktop, renamed the files and made the folder structure that FCOM expects. I used OBMM's NIF viewer to see the rusty bow, and yep...it looked like a rusty bow. I loaded the game and now I can see the bow and dagger in game.

Now you should be able to resolve some mesh issues without changing load order produced by BOSS--I didn't change mine. The only thing that I presume we'll run into is the unknown number of other missing meshes. It will be annoying if the number of missing meshes is high. I also have no idea if I'll be able to find some meshes, as not everything is stored inside a BSA.

I would guess the FCOM files I downloaded are incorrect...? Google found almost nothing on the MMMKOLrusty string, so hopefully this will be helpful to someone else.

I wouldn't PM me looking for more info, as I don't use this forum. I just felt the urge to update the ONLY post I could find using Google. ;)

Edit: Yep. Lots of missing meshes. I'll likely check my downloads and try to update/reinstall some mods.

I just checked my install of FCOM and I have the nifs you're missing. Checking my archives the nif is located in "MartsMonsterMod355ReleaseFull.7z". I'm betting you folks installed "MartsMonsterMod355b5-14442.7z" which is only a patch. The full version is here (http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=oblivionmods.detail&id=4226). Install this, then reinstall the patches.

Good luck!

Thanks for the info. My MMM install was not the standard install you referenced, but it was a different install someone created. The install I used:

1. Download MMM37b1andMMMforSI.7z [http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=17784] Then extract it to a MMM folder on your PC.

2. Open the extracted folder, and DELETE the "Meshes", "Sound" and "Textures" folders.

3. Dowload and extract "MMMSIBeta021.7z" [http://www.4shared.com/file/106642808/2956d5b5/MMMSIBeta021.html] and "MMM37b2_HC_EW_FarmAnimals_Updates.7z" [http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/download.php?id=41470].

4. For both archives, copy their 4 (in total) .esp files (and nothing else) to the same folder you extracted "MMM37b1andMMMforSI.7z". Answer "yes" to overwrite questions.

5. Download the updated "Mart's Monster Mod - Farm Animals.7z"

[http://www.4shared.com/file/106684288/c8368b6/Marts_Monster_Mod_- _Farm_Animals.html]and extract the file to the same folder. Answer "yes" to theoverwrite question again.

6. Download "MMM.7z" [http://files.filefront.com/MMM7z/;13891504;/fileinfo.html] (the archive containing the 3.7b2MMM.bsa archive). There is no need to extract it.

7. Download "mr_Siikas_farmanimals_v_1_4" [http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/download.php?id=42860]. No need to extract this either

8. (Optional) Download "MMM Slof Horses Complete" [http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/download.php?id=43279]. No need to extract this either.

9. Download "MMM_OMOD_Installer.rar"

10. Start OBMM, and click "Create"

12. In the "omod creator" window, click "Add folder" and choose the MMM folder used above.

13. Click "Add archive" and select "MMM.7z"

14. Click "Add archive" again, and select "_mr_Siikas_farmanimals_v_1_4-14265.7z". Answer "No" to readme overwrite question.

15. (Optional) Click "Add archive" again, and select "MMM_Slof_Horses_Complete-17784.7z".

16. Click "Add archive" again, and select MMM_OMOD_Installer.rar, and answer "Yes" to import omod conversion data

17. Click "Create omod" and let OBMM take its time compressing the OMOD.

18. Install the MMM OMOD by double-clicking it.

The MMM.7z contains one file, MMM.BSA. BSA Unpack shows that this is where my missing meshes are located. I looked in the script.txt file of the MMM_OMOD_Installer.rar. I copied the MMM.bsa to the Data directory and renamed it to "FCOM_Convergence - MMM.bsa". This appears to have resolved my issue. I'll use the other method if not. :thanks:
