Game wants to run through Epic, but I have it set to open through steam?

When ever I go to launch the game from the vortex tab it wants to open through epic games, but I have the path set to the steam version of the game. I've uninstalled epic games launcher but now it tells me I need to look for an app on the Microsoft store. Any suggestions on how to fix this?
