I tried removing a follower audio by removing the voice type but didn't work?

I have a mod follower that talks with Lydia's voice, i want to make it silent, only subtitles no audio.

 

 

(I use TESVedit)

I went in the Non-Player Character record of the esp and removed the FemaleEvenToned voice type. But she still talks and has the audio normally.

She still does even when starting a new game.

 

How can it be? Follower dialogues have a condition that the NPC must have "VoicesFollowerNeutral" voice types, including the one above. And she doesn't have it, i removed it.

So how the heck is she still talking with lydia's audio??

I don't know much about audio mods. The one time I tried to change a follower's voice, it just rendered her silent. Simply changing the voice type was enough to do this. Maybe you should do this? Of course, I got no dialogue either, but I wasn't playing with Fuz Ro Dah at the time (never liked silent mods). Maybe it would worth looking into?

 

Also, why do you want just this follower to be silent? If you wanted everyone to be silent, you could just turn the voice volume down to 0 in the game's menu.

Yes i did that, i created a new useless voice type and gave it to the follower instead of plain removing it now shes silent.

 

I want her silent because she is using lydias voice. She is not lydia. She is another person. I will also give her new quotes

Lots of vanilla npcs share voice sets. Here's a link listing all the vanilla npcs that share Lydia's voice set to give you an idea:

As for voice sets, there's only a few that have dialogue for followers, the femaleeventoned voice is one of those. I think there's only four or five voices for women. Its normal for follower mods to just re-use those. If lydia's voice annoys you btw, most female followers actually use the 'youngfemaleeagervoice', mostly famously used by Ysolda.

 

If followers using generic voices bother you, you're probably better off looking to ones with custom voices. Sofia is normally considered the queen of voiced follower mods. I can name a few more, but most of them are of the adult sort. The two premier male follower mods would be Inigo and Lucien. Lucien in particular has dialogue for conversations with several other voiced follower mods, including Inigo and Sofia. You can also check his mod page for more voiced followers. Legacy of the Dragonborn for SE I think also has support for various voiced follower mods. That too could lead you to a few more.
