ACrazyGerman
I have Oblivion Mod Manager and I need help. How do I install a mod with it thats is a zip file format. It only lets me install OMOD files. But the mod says it can be installed with mod manger. If has the omod conversion data in the zip file but I have no idea how to install it. I have tried just about every button I could find in Omod nothing works.
NBS
There's a bunch of tutorials out there but I'll try to walk you through it in plain english. 1. Open up the file you have downloaded. If it's a zip, write click and look for 'extract' or 'unzip'. It will bring up a utility that will extract/unzip the file and save it back to your hard drive. If it let's you, choose to extract it your Oblivion/obmm/mods folder. That's where you'll want to save all OMODs to. If it doesn't let you specify a file path, take note of where it was saved to, and once it's completed find that file location and copy and paste or cut and paste to the obmm/mods folder. 2. Launch OBMM. If you've copied the OMOD properly, you'll notice that your mod will appear on the list on the right. If it has a green square, it means it's good and ready to be activated. Click on it, and at the bottom of OBMM you'll find an 'Activate' button. Click on that, the mod will extract itself and get to 99% (do your best not to touch anything or click on anything else until it's done). Depending on the mod, some options will appear, just click through what you want until you get a message like, 'mod successfully activated.' On the left list, check to see if the .esp file of the mod is activated as well. It usually is, but double check. 3. On the left of this sentence, click [give] where it says 'Kudos: 2'. That's it, your done! Enjoy your new mod and have fun playing Oblivion!

XJDHDR
First, don't listen to NBS because his method only works if the creater put an OMOD in that zip file. Dezdimona has the correct method, except don't type in anything before adding the archive. If the mod already has OMOD data in it, you don't need to type in anything.
