Michlo
Greetings, for a while now I have been experiencing the problem of my downloads being empty or corrupt when I attempt to extract them. I then have to re-download them. I didn't post earlier thinking that it would be quickly resolved. Has anybody else been experiencing this and any suggestions? I use the latest Firefox and no download programs. Cheers.
Gamerbird
After you redownload them, do they work? If not, have you tried using a different extracting program?I had this sort of problem but I then switched to using WinZip and it worked fine for me then. Michlo
Aye, they are usually fine after the second download. I've tried WinZip and WinRAR. If nobody else is experiencing this then perhaps I've finally found a bug with my Win7 installation. I'll test out downloading them directly to my Vista 64 box and see if I still have the issue. Cheers.
jdubs320
I too have had a lot of my downloads been corrupted and nothing I have done fixed the problem. Any suggestions.
Michlo
Well last night I downloaded straight to my Vista 64 gaming machine and no problems. One night isn't enough for a true test, of course, but now I'm wondering if it had anything to do with the fact that I would usually download via my Win7 E-mail / browsing machine to my gaming machine. I shall do some more downloading in the next couple of days to see. Cheers.
buddah
Could be, I download everything.....check the downloads for all files the following day, scan and test every one. Haven't had a corrupted download in I can't remember when. Buddah

buddah
What is you extraction utility that you are using? If you are using winzip, download either winrar or 7z, most files here will require one of those to extract the archive. Buddah
Michlo
I can confirm that this is still happening to me and it seems others too, there is thread here on the same issue: http://thenexusforums.com/index.php?act=po...87&t=130458. I've been downloading directly to my Vista x64 box in case it was happening somewhere between downloading via my Win7 box onto my Vista x64 box but this did not rule out the problem. I even renewed the license for my WinRAR in case that was causing it. It is intermittent but still there. It seems to happen when I download a few one after the other or a few at a time. I then go and re-download and it is usually fine, it hasn't failed twice yet. Cheers.
buddah
Which download manager are you using and which browser? I will see if I can replicate the issue. Now this is on the technical side, have you checked your modem/router records for an increased error count? Depending on your modem/router configuration and your ISP, you may be able to check your modem/route status by accessing it directly the default ip address for most modems is 192.168.0.1, Refresh the statistics tab every minute and see if you are taking incremental errors....if so you may have a problem with your ISP or line conditions. Does it happen at certain times of the day? Have you tried running a trace route to see if you are bottle necking somewhere in the ATM?
