shadowdagger2
Ok so I had a problem with followers following me into my mod. I since found out that it was a Navmesh problem. I used auto Navmesh and I still had the same problem. I'm nearly done with my mod but I gave up because of the freaking Navmesh. But I don't want to give up on it. I want to finish it. So what am I doing wrong? Do I need to manually make one?
Callighan
I think you do have to manually make the navmeshes. That's the way I do it. I know it's a pain and it's time consuming. But you'll have greater control over AI paths this way,
woodrat
In a nutshell, yes... the auto generated navmesh never comes out right. You'll have to create it yourself, time consuming? Yes... hard to do? depends on how complex the area is that you are navmeshing. After a while though it becomes real easy to navmesh as you get more experience. But to answer your question, yes... you have to create the navmesh manually.
shadowdagger2
Well damn. So before I check does the youtube navmesh guide tell you how to do it manually? How to trouble shoot etc? Any tips or tricks of the trade? Or is it all just experience?
Callighan
You'll learn a few tricks along the way.But I think you have to keep in mind that you shouldn't make the navmeshes too complex. If you find your navmesh configuration is complicated, perhaps you're doing it wrong. And generally, don't navmesh over things NPCs can't walk over such as tables and barrels.
