Oblivion won't uninstall...

OK so mods recently destroyed my game for the 10,000th time and I now want to reinstall. The problem is that whenever I click "uninstall" in the launcher it says something about the application not being compatible with my operating system or machine configuration and says that I need to upgrade. I am using Windows 8. I have tried uninstalling through the launcher, directly through setup.exe, through the control panel and tried deleting all the files.

THE THING JUST WON'T DIE.

So does anyone have any ideas?

Run the uninstall as administrator in compatibility mode (BE CAREFUL > if you have disabled UAC in windows 8 is not enough, because windows 8 has also the LUA. You need to run as administrator ALWAYS or disable also the LUA protection). NOTE: If you disable the LUA protection you are "superadmin" but your metro apps don't work anymore (windows 8 limitation).

If it doesn't work, create a link to a prompt dos windows in compatibility mode and run as administrator and the unistall by this command:

RunDll32 C:\PROGRA~2\COMMON~1\INSTAL~1\PROFES~1\RunTime\11\00\Intel32\Ctor.dll,LaunchSetup "C:\Program Files (x86)\InstallShield Installation Information\{24E58FD8-714B-43BA-B3FC-F31B3C61886A}\setup.exe" -l0x10 -removeonly
