Pazzeroo
JUST an idea.... Far from the scope of most mods (maybe) and maybe impossible to implement:Turn the weapons, armor, and clothing stores into a place where you can not only buy items, but have items fixed. Like in NV where certain folks could do repairs for caps. Make it so that doing so is slightly cheaper than doing it yourself. Steel, for example seems to have a certain caps value and you need so much of it to repair or replace armor. Upgrading weapons takes many items with value, so by bringing them to the weapons dealer he/she can upgrade your weapons (you choose like you're at the workbench) for just caps, no building materials. Maybe make the building materials come from either the workshop or scavenging stations placed at the settlement, so that over time they'll be able to fix items with materials found.Clothing with weaves at the armor station. Have the restaurant cook your food that you already have in inventory. Make ribs. Eat well. Purify your dirty water. All for a fee and a quick request and menu selection for what you want. If using scavenged items, a way to separate them from the normal workshop inventory. Add to it with your own scavenged items, with a choice for the workshop or the scavenger's bin. I'm NOT a modder, although in my work days (I'm a retired old man) I did do some programming. I find things like the CK, etc. more complicated than it ever needed to be along with a lot of the newer programming languages. But I digress. Anyway, this is one of my ideas. Anyone else have one that'll give more function to the assets already in the game? Or new ones for that matter. Maybe new stores, instead. Like repair shops that don't depend on materials in the workshop or scavenging. Maybe assign two people to the shops where one does the scavenging FOR the shop (two separate counter locations on the same shop). Anyone foolish enough to try it?
