andysykes659
:wallbash: I'm a noob at modding, but I've managed to modify Fort Irony to include a quest from the Count of Bravil. The idea is that it will form the backstory to a larger mod turning the Fort into a player controlled fortress with guards, upgrades, etc. It's pretty much ready for uploading as a BETA for play-testing, but I can't seem to add a description of the mod or creator details from DEFAULT without TES CS crashing. Is there a work around, or do I need to install another program to change these details? It's driving me mad! Any help would be appreciated; I know it can be done as I've got mods with these details entered. I just can't seem to work out how to do it. Argomirr
Yeah, I have that problem too, on my new Vista 64 bit machine. It worked fine on my old XP, but now it won't even work in XP compatibility mode. Guess you're using Vista too. Anyway, TES4Gecko can be used to change descriptions. I've heard some rumors about it not working on Vista, but it works fine on my PC.
andysykes659
Argomirr, you're a star. Yes, I am running Vista (heap of dung that it is). Downloaded Tes4Gecko, installed it (and JAVA) and everything's all sorted :D It works like a dream now... Will soon be uploading APSFortIrony for comments... XJDHDR
For you Vista users, please note that installing programs outside the "program files" directory solves a lot of problems when using Vista (Try C:\Games). Otherwise, Wrye Bash can also be used to edit an ESP's description.
andysykes659
I've encountered that several times... :wallbash: I now habitually install everything out of that folder unless I know I won't be wanting to play about with it... Hmm... "C:\Games"? Sounds familiar... lol
