katashy
So, has anyone here got any tips on making forum signatures? As you can see, mine is awrite, but just isn't really the greatest. I use the GIMP, which is like photoshop, but free and not as good. I know my way around GIMP so if anyone has any tutorials maybe needing a higher skill level i'll still give it a shot. Oh and if you know any good stock image sites then please, do tell. Cheers.
wasder
Well, I would never consider myself an expert, but using a plain black image and messing about with the flame render on GIMP can produce some startling pictures. Besides that, dafont.com is great for fonts. Beware! Sig making is highly addictive!

wasder
I would use oblivion screenshots, but my computer isn't good enough to play oblivion on a decent graphics setting. If your computer is good enough, I'd try that, you could come up with some great stuff. If not, you could do what I've done now and get something from good old google. I suggest using Paint.net In my opinion, Paint.net is more like Photoshop than GIMP.
Mavrosh
I use gimp and recommend to get cool brushes for it if you use it. Just google for them. And this is a good texture site where you can get cool textures for free which you can include in a signature: http://www.cgtextures.comJust browse arounf that site, there is cool stuff! :) I personally use Oblivion screenies of my characters for signatures (as you can see below), I make them with the gimp. katashy
I made another signature, as you can below. I found a cool manga picture on google images, but it was black and white. I used gimp to colour it in and it looked quite good. Then i copied it and pasted it onto a new canvas. Then i got the gradient tool, chose 2 shades of blue and clicked and held in the direction i wanted. Then i changed the gradient layer to subtraction, which changed it to being a flame kind of colour. Then i added the text. If anyone is wondering, PROnoob is the name i gave my Business Managment class project. And KaTsHy corp is just the name for all my projects, which are based on web designing, forum signaturing (word?), and more kind of arty computer stuff, which i'm currently trying to make a business of...
