anjenthedog
I've been using a *very old version (v4.2.0-b110) So today, I decided to try using the most recent version of resaver. (6.0.614) FYI, my Java version is v8 update 171 (fwiw), so I should have an acceptable backbone. Resaver opens just fine using the exe from the folder where I decompressed the contents of its archive file (the folder IS on a separate drive from the Skyrim Savefiles, if that might have anything to do with it), but it stalls out very quickly when I try to open a save file, and it has to be forced closed by "killing" the java engine instance it runs atop, from program manager (cannot be force-closed by trying to kill resaver itself). I've tried to open a dozen different save files that I know can be opened using 4.2.0 And all my save files (sans a few I know are dead and corrupt) open just fine from 4.2.0-b110) Anyone else run into this or know of something/some step I might have missed? Gorsha
Can't you download a version between those two? That is what I should try.
anjenthedog
Can't you download a version between those two? That is what I should try. Thanks for your reply Gorsha I suppose I *can*. I just tried the latest, since the latest is "the latest" and ostensibly, "the best and most up to date" The latest version isn't written for AE is it? (by any chance), which might explain it if so. (I didn't read that but it might still be) If I can ask, which version are you using? Seems a good starting point since I'm so behind.
Gorsha
Well, I am using now Resaver 6.0.557. This is on Skyrim AE. And it works as intended.
anjenthedog
Well, I am using now Resaver 6.0.557. This is on Skyrim AE. And it works as intended. Thanks for the reply. Solved the problem yesterday evening but didn't get back here to update the thread. Long story short, Java was out of date and only 32-bit. I had to use the offline ver to update in order to get the 64-bit current version, as Oracle dropped the 32-bit version on me when I updated via the "updater"
