Gnish
Hi, this would be my first post, but I've enjoyed mods for a long time, just never bothered to do it myself when there's plenty of more talented people to do it. Super lazy, I know. I have a small question concerning modding games that have the folder hierarchy like "C:/Gamename/Content/Paks/~Mods" like Hogwart's Legacy. I believe this concerns unreal engine games. To be specific, the game that I would like to mod is Coral Island. I had a few ideas I was curious about implementing, if even possible, from other farm sims like Stardew valley and Rune Factory 5, like instead of just raising the tool damage with every upgrade, allow an A.O.E. action. It would be a huge time saver. I won't ask for specifics has that's my problem to figure out, what I'm curious about is, what tool(s) do modder use to create those fancy .pak files? It's surely going to take some serious education on coding on my part, but it would be very helpful to know what I'm supposed to work with. If you bothered reading that and actually answer, thank you for your time. Gnish Edited May 23, 2023 by Gnish
Sailaika
Hey, Gnish! I'm working on a mod specifically for Coral Island called AltLook. I've never modded before this, and it was a pain to figure everything out, so I'm thinking about making a guide/tutorial. If you're still interested, hit me up. If you're just interested in the tools, you'll need Unreal Engine, umodel, UnrealPak and that's it.

Hi Sailaika, just wanted to chime in, as I'm in the same position as Gnish - I would absolutely love a guide from someone with experience! I know it's a big task and a big ask, but I wanted to let you know that if you *do* end up making a guide, there's at least one person out here that would be wildly appreciative
Happybara
I'll try and ping a member of staff with some Coral Island experience for you to see if they can help @SlugGirl
SlugGirl
Hey @charliethequokka and @Gnish! I made a guide here for how to retexture clothing in Coral Island, it links to my other guide on AES Keys which you'll need to access the game files as well. From what I can figure out, this would still be relevant for you both in terms of how to create the .pak files for the game. Super happy to help out with any questions if I can

SlugGirl
Hey @Hamzi96! Did you also make the .sig file to go with your .pak file in your Paks folder in your game folder? Did you also add -fileopenlog to your launch options in Steam?

You may have seen that I haven't been active for some time now. That doesn't mean the mod is dead, I've just been overwhelmed with school and I have biology midterms rn. I plan on modding again after my midterms and I had a few people ask me for the mentioned guide already so just wanted to let you know that I'll do it. For now SlugGirl posted a guide here, I checked it out and it's a very well made guide so feel free to use it. (Thank you SlugGirl ) I'll get back to modding asap and I'll make a video tutorial, probably in a week or two.
