How to figure out what's causing my CTD?

Hello,

I read through the sticky and trying to figure out what's causing my CTD. I was able to get a log but not sure where in the log I can see which mod is causing instability? I am new to Skyrim and have the latest version and all DLCs. This is a new install. I tried to follow mod installation instructions as carefully as I could, but maybe I did something wrong.

I have NMM, BOSS, and SKSE. The game crashes to desktop right after loading. I am in Whiterun near the keep.

I included BOSS log and here is my Papyrus log. http://pastebin.com/zCe3erPF

Hopefully someone can deduce what's going on? Thanks in advance.

BTW I know that I can just disable mods one by one, etc, but I was hoping there's a way to just see what the culprit is through the logs

Disabling mods one by one isn't working out too well..

I just got this immediate crash

Does this tell me anything?

Sigh. Still troubleshooting. Just can't figure it out. I'm disabling one by one and I think I found the culprit, only to get another CTD. I have all mods disabled now and still same CTD. I'm about to just give up and uninstall

I made a new character and had no crashes at all until I came to Whiterun and saved there.. then when I load, I crash. I also made a fresh install and still having the same issues. Fresh install, new INI files, no mods, only skyrim and update.esp loaded. That's it. I go to Whiterun, run around, and everything seems ok. Then I alt tab, and go back into game and CTD. I'm pretty clueless.. What the hell is up with Whitefall? And why is a 2 year old game still unstable? I really regret buying it...

TES5Edit. Get it and run it. I was getting CTDs recently and saw those same things in my papyrus log (and others, too). After cleaning the update.esm and the DLC masters I don't see those anymore.

When you run BOSS it tells you to clean those master files anyway. So it's a good idea to do it since it can only help at this point. Right?

Thanks for your suggestion. I did try to clean them but maybe I did something wrong. I did Apply Filter for Cleaning, then Remove Identical to Master and Undelete and Disable References. Then I saved. Did I clean them right?

I am not using BOSS right now. I have a clean install with no mods (except Alternate Start mod so I can skip intro). no DLC, latest official patch, , freshly generated INIs, new character save. I teleported him to Whiterun and ran around for a while and still CTD. My log: http://pastebin.com/UFwaYny8

Maybe this is a sign I should just give up :/

You did a clean install and still issues? Are there any old files still residing somewhere on your machine? I've found that clean installs really aren't clean unless you do a very, very thorough removal of all things Skyrim from your computer. Even a file left in Docs/my games/Skyrim can make your fresh install run like a not-so-fresh install.....and that lesson sucked to learn. LOL

Granted, I'm no master at this sort of thing and have my own issues to contend with. But I can try to pass on how I fixed them I guess. :D

Thanks for your thoughts. It is definitely a clean install. I deleted all folders, including Skyrim in My Documents and Appdata. I'm thinking it's either an issue with AMD drivers or incompatability with Windows 8.1. Either way I should go to bed and forget this game exists.
