A follow on from my last post,

 

I've been following the creature meshes 101 tutorial (which im told is outdated) available on the elderscrolls wiki.

Ive managed to import the oblivion sheep skeleton from the Nif file into blender, and parent it to a different mesh (A wolf I made form scratch).

 

I know a wolf, in no way , resembles a sheep but....

 

The next step is to weight paint the mesh as per tutorial. However, blender did not want to paint. when starting the weight painting, the mesh is blue, it should change colour underneath the brush but it did not.

 

It is peculiar because It previously worked on another model from oblivion.

 

Is it something to do with the shape of the wolf not matching the sheep skeleton?

Do you select the bone in object mode first? I remember something very specific about the way you have to select what/where to paint, but I haven't done much with it.
