Cheat console doesn't work

Okay, so about... three...four days ago i got an awesome new computer that is *shudders* vista. And well.... while oblivion runs ever so smoothly... and the bAllowConsole=1 .... I can't get the console to pop up.

 

On my gaming computer in my room it's Windows XP and the console works, but both times i've played oblivion on Vista(mother's computer has vista also), the console doesn't work.

 

Now i don't terribly mind not having the console....( it just means i have to live with dying) I would like to have it work so i don't have to be auto saving all the time. Because let me tell you now.... :biggrin: I love to jump from high buildings XD

 

if anyone knows a solution to the problem, i would love them for ever!!

The usual reason for the console not working - in XP as well as Vista is there is a infrared receiver hooked up to the computer. I have no Idea why Microsoft would disable the '~' key when IR is hooked up. If you have the Media center edition of windows, and and IR receiver. On desk top computers unplug the IR and you get the ~ back. On Laptops it may be more difficult as the IR is built in and you must go into the settings to disable it.

Thanks for the help, i can't find the IR to disable it, but the mod works just as well ^^

FYI:

 

If the mod doesn't work the device to disable (not uninstall) is "SMSC CIR Receiver"
