NZJenkins
This is my first mod I have tried for fallout 3, adding a Wok weapon, and I am having some trouble with it. The shading is seriously messed up, like in my screenshot. I have no idea how to fix this. In nifskope the vertex shading looks fine but in game it looks horrible.Possibly some faces have inverted normals? But I took care to make sure they are all the right way as blenders auto normal thing was pointing them wrong, and it looks fine in nifskope. Any ideas? neunen
did you possibly forget to set the right normal map?.. does that shading change dynamically with the light in the game or are the light and dark spots static? if thats not it, could you also post a picture of how it looks in nifskope? also just to be sure, do you have archiveinvalidationinvalidated installed? NZJenkins
I have made a normal map, but I will try getting rid of it I think.Yes the shading is dynamic, I am fairly sure its normals, but the nif has proper normals so I am not sure what's going on there.I have attached a picture of Nifskope, with some lovely gouraud shading lol. But its not messed up or anything, ugly as it is.I dont have archiveinvalidation invalidated, but I don't see why it would cause this error, as everything else of my weapon works fine? What is its function exactly?
neunen
archiveinvalidationinvalidated allows fallout to load new textures that arent within the main .bsas i have never not used it, so im not exactly sure that the symptoms look like, but many a "screwed up texture" problem is fixed by using it.. and if you are going to have any mods running on your game you should have it.. there a link to it in my signature (textures not working) give that a try

neunen
ummmmm, im not sure, my brain isnt working too hot right now.. but if youve got archive invalidation, checked the normals, checked the normal maps and everything is in its right place, you could upload it to something like yousendit and pm me the link. (dont bother putting it up in the file section) and ill try to take a look at it for you.
