Can't update from 1.8.3 to 1.8.4

Tried updating to version 1.8.4 from 1.8.3 today, and about 1/3rd of the way through the install, the progress bar stops completely, followed shortly after by a warning message with the following text:

 

"Vortex cannot be closed. Please close it manually and click Retry to continue."

 

Clicking Retry does nothing. If I click Cancel, I get the following message:

 

"Failed to uninstall old application files. Please try running the installer again.: 2"

 

I've tried restarting my PC and only running the .exe, but the issue persists. How do I fix this?
