Plasma pistol with holster how to?

I'm designing a number of mods that I hope to connect up into a quest line for a companion mod but can also be stand-alone as well. My strip club/casino is one of these, another will be a house mod at some point when I'm done with the strip club/casino. What I'm hoping to do is add a new plasma pistol into the game with a working holster.

 

What I'm looking at in concepts, is something using a faster projectile (using the projectile mod on Nexus), uses an animation similar to the magnum/9mm pistols firing animation for a recoil on the barrel and shape it more like a modern pistol and give it a reflective metal look. Something that looks more like a magnum or 9mm pistol of present day but has similarities to the Fallout 2 glock pistol. Maybe an upgraded glock of some sort.

 

For the holster, rather than having a full gunbelt like the ones you see in CRI, I'm thinking more of something along the lines of what Ada wears in Resident Evil so that you can wear it with any skin-tight outfit as long as that leg is exposed and you can wear it with a variety of outfits without any issues.

 

The problem will be animation and scripting, first off, I need to know how to animate the weapon or find out what animations are used for most of the modern pistol weapon mods out there with firing animations. I also need to figure out how to write a script for the leg strap so that the pistol appears to be holstered when not in use.

 

Anyone out there willing to share some advice on how to accomplish this task?
