solidsirhc
Hi. I'm working on a new Oblivion overhaul unlike any other. It's not as fancy as ones like OOO, Fran's, MMM e.t.c. but it will unleash a whole new way of playing Oblivion. Here is the basic concept: - You do not gain level ups, only skill gains- Higher level creatures appear at level one, are weaker than in vanilla (to make up for lack of stat gains) and show up based on a percentage (e.g. 20% chance of one spawn point having a bear, 50% chance of it being a wolf and 30% chance of it being a boar)- All creatures tweaked to fit this new balance system. You will see all creatures from the start but the higher level ones will not be as strong as you would find them at that level, but still stronger than your average wolf- All quests available from the start, with enemies and rewards tweaked to suit a "level 1" player- All weapons and armor available from the start, don't expect to find any "high level" ones easily though That is all for now. I could use some help with this however; mostly with setting the values of enemies. It would take careful planning to set all of the enemies health and attack values e.t.c. without putting a lot of thought into it first, I can't just whack in some random values. Thanks for reading, hope you all like this idea =]
Nycrea
I like your idea. But I don't fully understand how you had this in mind.Do you mean like, the area's are 'levelled'? So if you go to an 'high level' area (an area with strong beats) you will die if your skills are low. That's what I see in your idea, but I don't know if that's exactly what you had in mind. But anyway, I think it's a good idea. solidsirhc
In some cases yeah. Some dungeons will have a powerful boss at the end others won't. But I mainly meant creatures on roads will have a percentage of whether it will be a wolf, bear etc. Same with the various goblins and skeletons of the world etc. All the high level ones will be weakened to be possible (but still challenging) for a level 1 character but will have less chance of appearing. solidsirhc
Ok while tinkering with the stats of the creatures, I decided "Wow, these creatures are colored weird compared to their real life counterparts", so I decided to reskin a few, starting with the common rat. In Oblivion they are a sickly yellowish brown with greeny brown highlights, when rats are a much softer brown with pink highlights, so here is what I've come up with, and what I need help with. http://img15.imageshack.us/i/ratproblem.jpg/ As you can see one side of it's face is brighter than the other, yet both sides share the same part of the rat.dds image file, what would cause this? :S (Image is in full brightness setting, so there is no shading applied)
