Sirenroot (quest mod) requirements for 1.5.97 players

So, reading up on the mod (looks neato), it is suggested that if you are a "native" 1.5.97 player, you have to install the "AE downgrader" to gain additional "AE" resource files (and possibly other linkages)

 

 

Sirenroot requires the Ayleid tileset, included in the free Skyrim SE to AE patch from November 2021.

Please update your game to the latest version or use the 'Best of Both Worlds' downgrade if you know what you're doing, as it retains those assets.

VR users do not have access to these assets.

 

Here's what I'm wondering:

 

Are there any "side effects" from installing the downgrader onto a never AE-ified Skyrim SE 1.5.97 game?

 

Like "Oh, yeah, well... yeah, uh, you can't do that any more because the extra AE stuff" or something.

 

Just want to know what if any "cost" there is to installing it, before I do it.
