redsquirrel666
Hi :) K, so I'm trying to add watermelons to Fallout... I've exported the watermelon NIF and textures from Oblivion, I have the textures pointing to the new location in the Fallout/Data/Textures directory. It all looks great in NIFskope, but when I try to make the item in GECK I get error MASTERFILE: (BSStream Error) NIF BSVersion is too old in folder\watermelon.nif And the mesh appears as a big red exclamation point in the GECK. I found a tutorial about converting meshes from Oblivion to Fallout but it mentions modifying a NiTriShape node which the watermelon doesn't seem to have. I'm using Nikscope 1.0.20 (revision 4748) Has anyone run across this or know how to fix it? Is there a version number somewhere in the NIF I gotta change? redsquirrel666
Well, I got it in the game, but GECK says "root 3d reference is not a fade node. this reference can not be picked".. I see a couple of people mention this issue but I don't see a clear (to a n00b like me) answer... is there something I have to add/remove check/uncheck in Blender or Nifskope? Thanks for any help :) EDIT: Nevermind, I got it.. I used NIFskope to convert the top NiNode to BSFadeNode. Time to make watermelon bombs.
kelmar6821
can you import the mesh in a 3d editor then use a export plugin designed for fo3?
redsquirrel666
Thanks I just got it :) yeah I had to import to blender then export as a Fallout mesh, then convert the node so it could be picked up... now to import a bunch of other random crap lol
