InDarkestNight
I was just browsing the UESP finding items that fortify carry weight. On the page for the effect I saw an item called 'charmed necklace' I had never heard of before. Based on the name, I had assumed it belonged to one of the charmed vigilants or something like that. Turns out, its actually part of that annoying 'reveler' world interaction. I hate the force greet, and have long given them a wide berth. I can't remember the last time I let that idiot lock me into an unskippable conversion that offers nothing. Turns out, he does offer something, but only if you have honningbrew mead in your inventory. If you do, you get an extra dialogue option where you can give the thing to him and in exchange he'll give you that unique necklace. Of course, you apparently can also just kill him for it. This has worried me honestly. I've been trying to do the relic hunter challenge for Legacy of the Dragonborn. Turns out, it does have a display for this item. I had no clue this item existed at all, and I never would've found out about if I hadn't stumbled upon it while looking for ways to increase my carry weight. I might have figured it out eventually, though only after I had filled the rest of the museum (or at least the jewelry display) and see that one item missing. What else could I possible miss? I know the LotD wiki has a list of 'missable' items, so I guess that helps. What other items could there be though that I don't know about? This 'charmed necklace' isn't even something added by the mod; its been part of the vanilla game all this time and I never had a clue. What other things could there be then that I possibly don't know about? Stupid relic hunter challenge.
rkkn
what, do you despise the sweet taste of honningbrew?
InDarkestNight
I find force-greets utterly annoying, especially the unskippable kind. The courier annoys me to no end, and the stupid revelers are the same even though you can at least dodge them. Also, I normally don't bother to collect ale since it doesn't serve much practical purpose (the same with food unless I'm playing with a needs mod). Even when the stupid reveler manages to catch me, I just exit the conversation at the first chance I get just so I don't have to listen to more of his repetitive unskippable dialogue. I've even killed him a few times (though I think it was always in werewolf form). On top of being a werewolf, I never imagined he had anything of interest on him. I mean, he's a random npc that seems to only have his clothes and ale. What could he possibly have that would be of any use to me? I only bother to loot non-combat npcs for their keys, which he obviously doesn't have. Honestly, I've never really bothered to explore the map much. Some time ago I did a no-mods playthrough and kept finding stuff I had no idea existed in the game. Thinking that honestly maybe I need to do another un-modded playthrough and make sure to thoroughly explore every corner of the game for content I've missed. I keep using mods that add more stuff into the game, though honestly I've been thinking that maybe the game just appears to lack content to me because I rarely explore areas far from the roads or civilization (other than the lack of enemy diversity anyway).
