Rain effect in the game

Have anyone explored or had a guess of how getting wetted by rain work in this game? So I played with Infinite Heaven's weather change function, and saw Snake instantly getting wet when I set the weather to Rainy. My guess was there was another skin texture loaded for him in that situation, instead of some physics engine work, but I can not know for sure.

I'm pretty sure that's just shaders, i.e. same texture but having a higher reflective value added.
