is it okay to make mods while also having things like script extender and F04Edit? Also need opinions for a mod.

Alright so I have all these different kinds of mods that are put in the main Steam file for my FO4. My question is if I make and publish mods will I also be making dependencies for them as well?

Now for the mod idea. I'm coming over after a few years of being on xbox. One of the major problems that I've found on xbox is that there are textures that have been left in a higher resolution then some of the consoles can handle. There is a mod on xbox that does help with this. It's called Optimized Vanilla Textures - Main and can be found on the Bethesda.net mod page. One of the problems with it is that it takes up just enough room that could be put to other mods. OH CONSOLE PROBLEMS I DON'T MISS! AIN'T I RIGHT?

My idea is that we just do a simple swap of the vram heavy textures to something less heavy. My question is how would I go about finding these heavy textures? The only other question I would have after finding them is what should I switch them to? But the second question will have to wait.

Regardless thanks for any and all advice.

Short answer is no.

Long answer: For FO4Edit, that's a program so no dependency is possible.

F4SE, if you're scripting then sure, you might add a dependency IF you use any F4SE functions in your code. But it's not a "crash the game" dependency, it's a "your code doesn't work" dependency, without F4SE anyways.

Someone else will have to comment on the Bethnet stuff, idk about that.
