Kat12313
Hello! I wasn't exactly sure where to create this thread as I feel this is both a mod and base game problem (or only of them for all I know). So recently I have had a problem of Nick attacking everyone as soon as he is my companion, dismissed, or is an essential NPC. For example, when I tried dismissing him before my encounter with Kellogg, the synths and Kellogg had immediately turned aggressive and started attacking him then me (or the opposite depending on whether Nick walked in the room or not). The same sort of thing happened before when he wasn't dismissed. Another instance is when I was trying to take him to the Memory Den to get Kellogg's memories, I would spawn in and he would be attacking Irma. In a reloaded save in Diamond City before going to the Den, I tried dismissing him and he started attacking everyone. I almost have a feeling that every other companion would act the same, but that is something I have not tested out yet. I have tried every solution I could think of: Console commands, disabling every mod, cleaning up the mods with FOEdit (though I doubt it did anything). Nothing has worked so far. I have tried googling similar situations and some people on reddit had a problem where Nick would attack people, but there were either jokes or no concrete answers to the problem. Please let me know if I need to elaborate on anything. Sometimes I tend to not explain things well. Edit: Tested to see if Nick would attack anyone on another save (same mods as below) and he is completely normal. I'm pretty sure the other save is screwed up, but I'd still like to know how. LarannKiar
For debugging purposes, you can try these: 1) Deactivating all your mods - if it worked, then the problematic mod didn't change his behavior permanently (his AI is just temporarly overriden) - reactivate them one by one (start with the ones that seem to affect him like the romancable Nick mod) - if it didn't help, it will probably be complicated to restore his AI. Go to step 2) 2) Some console commands that can help with tracking down the issue. (I wouldn't recommend playing the game after typing these commands, these should only be used for debugging). - "TDetect" ( this will turn off AI Detection for all NPCs ) - "2F25.StopCombat" - "2F25.RemoveFromAllFactions" - "2F25.SetAV 2BC 0" ( 2BC is the FormID of a hardcoded ActorValue named "Aggression" ) - "2F25.SetAV 2BD 0" ( 2BD is the FormID of a hardcoded ActorValue named "Confidence" ) Here's an article about 'AI Data' ActorValues.
