Balkhan1
Just curious, do you usually play Oblivion with AA and Bloom on or no AA and HDR on? I just tried both and took some screenshots...
Hateful_kat
I play without AA and with HDR. With a little bit of tweaking you can use both at the same time.I tried switching from HDR to Bloom one day and Vista gave me a BSOD.
Balkhan1
I compared the two sets of screenies and decided on the same - no AA with HDR on. Just can't zoom in - jaggies! I've been getting lots of CTDs lately. When I do I lose mouse control and have to shutdown via task manager. Once I guess I didn't shut down all the way and started another game. I encountered an NPC that should in no way even be in that saved game - it was a shock. Upon exiting I found there were 2 instances of Oblivion.exe running in task manager! Kinda freaked me out when I saw the NPC in game.

BossDweebe
I use HDR. I started with Bloom because all the white stoneand a lot of skin textures were too washed out and glary wiht HDR.but then I got Natural Environments and started using it's Natural weather esp. This works well with HDR, but I found the lightingtoo yellow for my taste so I tweaked the colour settings with CS and havewhat I consider a more natural colour with HDR.I will never go back to Bloom. The lighting just seems too lifeless. I have read in some comments that AA and HDR can be used with ATI cardsvia control panel. This can also be done with nVidda, but only works in the cell that you load the game in. AA shuts off after you leave that cell. It is still handy for screen shots. AA can also be restored while playing the game in the following way.Start task manager before loading the game with Applications open (I think it is more stable to start it first). Then when you want to restore AA press Ctrl/Alt/Delete as you would do to open task manager. When Oblivion minimises highlight Oblivion in task manager and click Switch To .When you return to the game all will be smooth. This method keeps Oblivion from locking up when restored. If you use task manager via the processes window the game is likely to lock up when you return. This method is still not stable, and the game may crash sooner than later when using it.
