Falcata
Okay, short summary of the past few months: 1) Been playing other games, doing artwork, trying to make money2) No practical way to trade in the western digital drive for a seagate drive, and not enough money to cover expenses involved.3) The western digital drive (surprise surprise) failed again.4) Wasn't able to build a new computer :-( For now, I'm cutting my losses and sticking with my old reliable PATA drive. May get a seagate drive soon, but don't know. For now, I'm getting Oblivion up and running under Wine 1.1.32 and I'll have a report on it fairly soon. Also, the new 190 series of nVidia display drivers are now on Arch Linux's testing repos. Once those get into the main repos, I'll do further testing, and include it in my report for Wine 1.1.
Falcata
Okay, I had forgotten the issues I had with running Oblivion under wine on a 64bit OS. Soon as I get my hard drive replaced, I'm putting a good old i686 OS on it. As for the 3 hard drive failures, I've figured out why I am having such bad luck: Western Digital has been sending me refurbished hard drives for replacements. That means I've been getting hard drives that have already failed! EDIT: I've cleared a lot of space off of my hard drive, so now I'm setting up a 32bit schroot environment, which should let my 32bit applications work much more seamlessly. Falcata
Hey Folks, I don't have Oblivion installed right now, but I did catch some news. Version 1.37 of WINE was just released today, and includes five bugfixes specific to Oblivion: 8867 Oblivion water lacks any shader effects 10047 Oblivion water lacks transparency 11795 Oblivion giant tree sprite(s) follow the player 13827 Oblivion distant trees flicker and look like 2D sprites 18381 Oblivion: blank screen when HDR is enabled Yes, you read that last one right. It looks like Oblivion FINALLY has working HDR under WINE. I have yet to test this, however, and don't have the time to do so because of some projects I'm working on. Can anyone verify this? http://www.wine-reviews.net/wine-reviews/w...7-released.html
