Yeseah
So long story short I'm an idiot and screwed up by checking "Always allow __ to open links of this type in the associated app" on Google Chrome. In this case, I tried to download a mod collection through Vortex and associated the download link with the actual game itself, not Vortex. Now, whenever I try to install the mod collection, Chrome pushes the link to open up the Steam game instead of sending it to Vortex. I tried installing on Firefox but for some reason even when pointing the associated app to Vortex it doesn't do anything when I try to install the collection. I tried using the "Fix Nexus Mods links in Chrome" option but since I'm using a Steam Deck, the Chrome preference file is not in the typical location where it would be on Windows and I received a message saying "Could not determine the chrome preferences file to fix. Please read the help text for this fix and apply it manually." I know where the Chrome preference file is on my device, but I have no idea how to apply to fix manually because I can't find the "help text" that the error message is referring to is. Deheart
I am on PC Ubuntu 22.04 with similar problem with chrome links. Except that I don't even know where the chrome preference files are.
samuelandia01
Hi, did you resolve the issue?
GwydionTheDon
x-scheme-handler/nxm=vortex.desktop x-scheme-handler/nxm-protocol=vortex.desktop if it still doesn't work run update-mime-database ~/.local/share/mime/ and reboot. If anyone knows how to replicate this on Firefox, I'd be much obliged! Nothing I've tried works...
tamzy00
Its been some months, has anyone found a usable solution for this? I got Vortex installed and managing my game (Baldur's Gate 3), but now I'm stuck with this. I click the "Fix" button but it still comes back with the red "Failed to fix..." notification.
