How do I Change the Colors of a Spell?

Hi,

I decided while playing the other day that it would be great to have a Soul Trap spell with a "concentration" casting type, similar to Flames, Frostbite and Sparks. So, I took to the Creation Kit, and after finding a tutorial on YouTube, I was able to create a new spell that casts like Flames, Frostbite and Sparks, but has the same effect as the standard Soul Trap spell. I set it to use the same animations and sounds as Flames, but the problem I'm having is in trying to change the color of the flames to purple.

I looked through this thread and was unable to figure out how he changed the color of his flames, and he isn't active anymore, so I can't message him and ask him. I also tried using this mod, which changes the color of the Flames spell, but I don't want the actual Flames spell to use purple; just the new spell I created. I tried duplicating the projectile type for the Flames spell and setting the art file to a modified version of the NIF used for the flames, but that didn't work, and I don't know how else to do it.

Does anyone know how this can be done? I use the "Populated" series of mods, so I get ambushed by tons of enemies in caves, dungeons, forts, etc. so my mage is taking down lots of enemies at once with spells, summoned and conjured allies, etc. and I often miss out on capturing a useful soul because the standard Soul Trap spell sucks, and half the time, doesn't hit where you're aiming. I thought about using the Sparks animations for the new spell seeing as I can't seem to get the flames to be purple, but I'd really like to use purple flames, but, JUST for thew new spell; not ALL fire spells.

Hopefully someone can help me!
