telkoth
Hey, So ive been running FOOK/FWE/MMM and a few smaller mods, Rain, CRAFT, FWE-Primary Needs, Roadwardens, and extended GNR playlist. Im running 1.4 and the Unofficial Patch, along with all DLC's. When i first start playing a character, the game is really quite stable, but as i progress further and further through the game, i start to get crashes. Sometimes when quicksaving, sometimes when quickloading, Othertimes when loading a new area, and even while just walking along. Some seem to be triggered in area's, while others completely random. Ive played 2 characters so far. with varying degrees of success. My first character, i reached level 10, Accepted the Riellys Rangers quest by awakening Rielly, then when i left Underworld, No matter how i left, Exit, porting to another NPC/Area, game would crash, i eventually got out, i have no idea how, then leveled to level 11, and every time i got to level11 with that character, and accepted my new Perk, the game would Freeze completely. With my second character, Ive managed to get to level 13 with frequent CTD's, Mostly at random times, after killing a mutant etc. However, Now Ive come accross the Chryslus building, I went there at a low level, Saw super mutants, Buggered off cuz they were too tough, Now im level 13, Headed back there, If i quick save out front, Game crashes, if i enter the building, Game crashes, However, i can quicksave only a few hundred meters away near a raider house. Also, with this character, ive noticed that after combat if im on low HP, Low enough to hear my heartbeat, i will automatically fully heal, Now it doesnt do it ALWAYS, Although one time, i managed to have it happen reliably after killing a super mutant in the hotel (Rescueing riellys rangers). What i want to know, is, Has anyone come across any of these issues? Obviously the CTD one is most important, but im extremely curious about the full healing after combat one also. Or, if anyone is able to run FOOK/FWE/MMM with relatively good stability, and actually able to FINISH the game, reaching level 30, would you be able to let me know, what mods exactly you have, aswell as the load order, and what setup you have, game version, which patches specifically are being used, unofficial, fakepatch, etc. So i can try to replicate it here, Ive reinstalled everything twice already trying to get it to work, but have had no luck whatsoever. Anyway any information you can give me would be much appreciated, thanks.
mechine
Well the only real good use of fake patch is the ability to keep the 1. 15 patch an VATS grenades thrown at ya Which I don't think you can do with 1.4 fake patched Using Patches past 1. 15 I think is more for folks with SLI Idk I guess the difference between using 1.5 +masterupdate, and 1.4 fake patch has to do with DLC stuff or Idk, I didn't realy pay attention to the difference in 1. 35 an 1.4 You might could create a restore point an then patch to 1.5 an use FO3edit Master Updateby creating a shortcut to FO3edit with -masterupdate added in the target propertys for said shortcutThis will make all the mods you have Esm in geck though, And you would need to get plug in versions if you wanted to make mods from the mods you have, which isn't a big dealAlso you would have to use the normal FO3edit launch .exe to do normal FO3edit stuff You could probably follow the tweek guide for grapics or even the notepad options for fallout 3an get things a bit better. Autosave can be a problem, most folks turn it off. I know there are plug in's for using MMM/FWE/FOOKAs well as a plug in for the FWE-Primary Needs FOIP http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=4968 You know if you think about it using the DLC's makes the game more problematic Also using all those overhawls together can be even more problematic You probably have WMK running too :O These are all really great. Do they work well together, Idk Maybe you could narrow it down what you are looking for then use less overhauls, or not, but it's going to be hard to run an lots of stuff to fix Maybe just slowly add in the large overhawls I can't really tell you anything I use 1.5 master update with no DLC added They have been saying it's either using the 1.0 15 patch with fake patch Or the version you use 1.4 with fake patch Or 1.5 with master update http://tinyurl.com/ohhcoz is the fake patch topic, If you read it there's tons of stuff to it Or well compared to the easy "hands off" 1.5 master update Not knowing anything about it, but just knowing you got all the DLC stuff I'd use the one of other two patches Unless 1.4 had something very very specific that I needed A lot of the "overhawl" mods have stuff that was assembled from a bunch of tiny mods Maybe you got a overhawl just wanting one of the smaller things I'm not saying this isn't the place to post questions like this, because I post stuff like that here Who's to say if CTD goes in Tech support or Mod trouble shooting It's hard to tell. I'd try to narrow down the problem some more an wait for someone smarter than Mechine the super noob to post There are advantages to starting over an re-installing, besides the aweful pain of the work load involved Most mods get updated versions, by reinstalling you pretty much update the whole system rather than searching endlessly for updates/patches. Idk There's tons of other stuff to like defrag the hard drive, update all the drivers Wait you're not even using FakePatch Maybe that's it. Pretty much it's like they told me 1.0 0 15 plus the fake patch 1.4 0 6 plus the fake patch 1.5 an run FO3edit master update each time you add in new mods The first two are harder an require more reading an hacker stuffThen the last is rather simple, but it's hard finding information about running master update as a master update noob Pretty much just patch to 1.5 download the latest version of FO3editcreate a short cut, then right click the short cut and in the target lineIt says "D:\Bethesda Softworks\Fallout 3\FO3Edit.exe" Which you add "D:\Bethesda Softworks\Fallout 3\FO3Edit.exe" -masterupdate You need a space between " -masterupdate Also you have to use the normal FO3edit.exe launcher to get into the normal FO3edit You'll forget an launch the shortcut then apply a master update when you didn't need one almost turning that mod you made into a masterfile, rather than a plug in LOLZ Quick hit the X button zomg that was close You're on your own with the fake patch, I don't know if it's better besides being able to shoot grenades in VATS when mutties throw them at you I think the whole idea of fake patch is to update the Fallout.exe without running the real patchthat would have updated it, sounds risky if you ask me Are there any players out there that have ran 1.5 an master update well into the game like DLC's an the MQ an stuff, It works great for me but I'm not very far into the game
