ceasefire457
Hi Everyone, I bought a HP Envy M6 1310 a few weeks back and I just wondered if the integrated graphics card (not to be confused with the dedicated graphics card.) could be upgraded to next one up the 8650G, I have at the moment the 7670M. Thanks for your time =P Edit: Oh and it's AMD, Just in case. =] Edited January 3, 2014 by ceasefire457
bben46
The integrated graphics cards in a laptop are normally part of the main board and are not upgradable. That is what integrated graphics means - instead of a discrete part that can be changed, when it is integrated - it is a part of the motherboard. Werne
The integrated graphics cards in a laptop are normally part of the main board and are not upgradable.Laptop in question uses a mobile AMD A10-5750M Richland APU with Radeon graphics core embedded in the processor die. You can replace the graphics chip by replacing the CPU, same as with desktop APUs. @ceasefire If the board's BIOS allows it (check the board's CPU compatibility list) you can upgrade the graphics by getting a socket FS1r2 Richland mobile APU with a desired graphics core. I think that exact same APU model has a series with an 8650G core. I'm not sure how much that would cost though, I personally never bought a mobile processor or even saw one for sale, plus it pretty much feels like a pointless exercise for a laptop. ceasefire457
@werne Thanks for letting me know, I was only wondering just in case I wanted to do the upgrade at a later date, but again thanks, you saved me about six months hunting for this on google lol =]
