[LE] Creating a new mod to remaster an old one

Hello fellow true sons and daughters of Skyrim … ok fine everyone else too.

There is this mod for Skyrim SE that changes the original sheathe and unsheathe battle axe animation from the vanilla version, where you pull it over your shoulder, to a more God of War inspired animation where you grab it from behind your back instead. And as far as I know, this is the only mod on all of Nexus that changes this animation. The problem though is that the author has seemed to have completely abandoned it. It hasn't been updated since the original publishing and the author hasn't responded to any comments that have been made on his page since March 2021. Besides the author not supporting the mod anymore, another mod that was supposed to work with this one was unfortunately removed from Nexus. Luckily though, I was able to find a different one that works pretty much the same as the old one.

Ok so the problem with the mod is that it's done kinda you know … it's dated. The unsheathe animation is incredibly quick and it doesn't flow with the vanilla animation sound, so it just doesn't look or feel smooth at all. Fortunately though, the sheathe animation is a little bit better but it cuts off too soon making the axe teleport to its spot on your back instead of having a smooth put away. So I was hoping if someone was able to make their own version and just make it smoother and just overall better I would really appreciate it.

I was considering posting on his mod to see if he would by some chance notice and be my hero, but other people have posted what I'm asking for in the past, even whenever he first published, but were ignored. So obviously he has no interest in wanting to touch it so it leaves me to save the day. Basically how I felt: https://tenor.com/bKjph.gif. Well this kinda only really leaves me one option. To beg random people on nexus who are infinitely more knowledgeable than I am.

So now I ask you guys if you could please help me cuz I am quite literally a buffoon.
