Balor64
I think Ebony armor looks better than Daedric, but I also want the protection that Daedric armor offers. I would just add a shield effect to myself using the console, but it wouldn't scale as the armor is damaged. I would like someone to please make a mod that creates a set of armor that looks like Ebony, but has Daedric stats. I would do it myself, but the little I've been able to find on creating mods seems to be saying that it requires the construction set, which I don't have. This doesn't sound like it would be hard to do, so I figured someone had already done it, but I can't find anything about it with the search feature. If there is already a mod for this, or if there's a way for me to do this myself, please tell me.
theLeeHarvey
Get the construction set here:http://www.elderscrolls.com/downloads/updates_utilities.htm Once it's installed start it up and 'open' Oblivion.esm. Once that has loaded into the construction set, find the 'armor' category in the left hand box and select 'Ebony'.-Double click on the ebony cuirass and another window with all the armor's stats and information will pop up. - Change the form ID to whatever you choose ex. BALOREbonyCuirass, then change whatever other stats you want, weight, armor rating etc.-Close the box when finished and when it asks if you want to create a new form click 'yes'.-In the Worldspace box in the lower right, find an interior location you are familiar with, such as a fighters or mages guild and double click it so it renders in the render window. Use your mouse and the left 'shift' key on your keyboard to get your viewpoint where you want it inside the interior, then click and drag your newly created armor into the render window where it will appear as a world object. You can fine tune the placement of it by clicking on the piece and dragging it where you want it to go. Hold down the 'Z' key to move it up or down.-Finally, click 'save' and name your new .esp file. In the game launcher's data files window (or OBMM if you use it), tick the box next to your new .esp and launch the game. Your personally tweaked Ebony armor should be exactly where you placed it in the construction set. You can do this with any item in the game pretty much, so you can do a whole set of armor if you like. You can also create custom enchantments for your armor while in the construction set, but that's a longer explanation for something you'll figure out on your own with just a little playing around. You can also look at the ElderScrolls Wiki for a tutorial on mod making that will tell you how to do all this as well.
