SlyRedFox
Ok so I just got Fallout 3 and was wondering if anyone had tips for before starting? also what community mods and patch do you recommend? is the face generator still as crappy as Oblivion (everyone was extremely ugly) and will i have to again get some babe looking girl patch to actually have a decent looking character....though I'd like to play as a guy for once...but one that doesn't look too deformed... does playing as a men or a woman change anything? can you have sex with people (video game sex is just too funny) so yeah anything else I should know before playing? thanks
DigChrono
no sex (Bethesda is very censored) but there are a few mods...the two best:Wasteland Player:http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=2273Seducing Women:http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=2341and one that makes Nova (Megaton prostitute) spoon your character when you buy a room, but I don't know the name a babe looking patch would be one of the female body replacers:Type V Female Body Replacer (my personal fav):http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=5326Malos Nude Body Replacer:http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=872BABE Mk3:http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=1185 gender only sets which variant two of the perks (Daddy's Girl/Boy, and Lady Killer/Black Widow, but they both do pretty much the same thing) and how people address you faces are pretty good.....but I suggest the Hair Pack by Yoshikinakota, since most of the default hairs aren't that greatHair Pack:http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/fil...=1146&tab=3 DON'T INSTALL THE 1.5 PATCHits really buggy and most mods won't work with itdownload FOMM (Fallout Mod Manager), G.E.C.K. (the games SDK, get it even if you aren't gonna do any modding), FOSE (Fallout Script Extender, ALOT of mods need it, but it DOESN"T WORK WITH 1.5), a cool little utility for launching various other things (Fallout 3, FOMM, GECK, etc.), changing the load order for mods, etc., FO3Edit (for changing ESP headers to ESM headers so mods don't interfere as much and cause as many problemsFOSE:http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=4888FOMM:http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=640G.E.C.K.:http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=759Little Boy:http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=2094FO3Edit:http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=637 thats pretty much it, I suggest downloading the DLCs (or buying them on a disk, but currently only Amchorage and The Pitt out on disk, Broken Steel will be released on a disk with Point Lookout (which is still in development) in august) make sure you get a mod to make your followers (if you use them) essential, otherwise they won't last long, other than that....have fun playing Fallout
SlyRedFox
anyway to uninstall the 1.5 patch?
DigChrono
reinstall Fallout.....or set FO3Edit to MasterUpdate mode so all the active mods get ESM headers and work perfectly with 1.5but no way to uninstall just 1.
SlyRedFox
I downloaded FO3edit now what do I do with it exactly...do I just open it every time I need to play?
DigChrono
rename it to FO3MasterUpdatethen from FOMM or the default launcher (FOMM works best, cause the default doesn't always write the changes to disk) activate all the mods you want to usethen close thatand run FO3MasterUpdate (MUST be renamed) and let it runthen it should say something like ALL DONE at the very bottomrun that once every time you add new mods or change existing ones (the header would be changed back to an ESP header when you edit it) so no, you don't need to run it every time you play Fallout

DigChrono
and I was checking the Global Travel System and had a hard time understanding what it do exactly is there no way to control vehicles in the original game?I'm not sure.....I don't think sobut I wouldn't mess with the GTS til you've gotten a good start in the wasteland when you make your character......try to make all the stats (ESPECIALLY the SPECIAL skills) pretty even, but put an extra point into Strength if you can, since each point of strength equals ten more pounds that you can carry
SlyRedFox
whenever i get in the elementary school at the start of the game, i try to go in VATS mode and all the enemies part show 0% chance of hitting, it's also extremely laggy (usually i run a good 30+ fps) and sometime the game just crash...happened to anyone else or anybody know why?
