ballistyx
OK, so I get orders from Percius to wipe out a dude hiding in a cave up north. Well, first there's the trip there. Miles from any regular transport, and a big swim through slaughterfish and dreugh-infested seas. Then I get to the cave and find it populated with some really nasty types of person. I used all my offensive scrolls and every sneaky trick I know to get through, and that only after a couple of reloads. What I'm trying to say is, my lvl16 fighter (trying not to use any spells, just weapons though I will use other people's spells in scroll form if I have to) found it pretty difficult. Surely lvl16 isn't too early to do this stage of the Fighters' Guild quests? At this rate, my experiment to get through the game with brute force may well fail . . . Malchik
What level is your difficulty slider set at? Default setting is 0 and level 16 should be relatively easy for Sargon. It will not be enough for the expansions. If you have pushed the difficulty to +100 16 is about the lowest you'll be able to manage Sargon on. It depends also on the levels of the relevant skills. You can reach level 16 without having enhanced skills you use. If you are for instance using a long sword, medium armour and a shield but Long Blade, Medium Armour and Block are low it will naturally be more difficult. The same applies to attributes. A few CE rings and things might make all the difference.
ballistyx
Diff is on default I think, and my short blade and med armor are about what you might expect for lvl16 :) Er, block wasn't really an issue, as my orcish shield (courtesy of Umbra) was woefully neglected and fell apart after the first few hits :embarassed: I just got surprised by the strength of the opponents, and it makes less sense when Percius' next job is so damn easy! (Bandits in Suran) Not complaining, of course - I made it through. Though I had to reload when a bonewalker wiped my strength out entirely and I wasn't about to try and run out of there naked!! The booty was hardly worth the fights, either. I've noticed that some of the better loot in crates etc changes to lesser items when you reload a tricky cave. NinjaSalad
It is in my exp that when you do get through that area, you will have reached that required level, would you rather it be really easy? I would just say go in and fight your ass off then retreat to recover.
ballistyx
It is random so if you reload again you might find it has gone up.<{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well the Gods of Chance must hate me! Whenever I see a nice weapon/spel/potion and think "I'll get that on the way out", it's been replaced by a iron dagger/cheap restore personality/bottle next time round! I'm not obsessed enough to keep reloading in order to strike some good loot though :)And Mr Salad, you're right - after hacking my way through Sargon, I feel my character has the experience to take on harder challenges. Like attacking an alit with a rusty teaspoon . . .
