Reflected Arrows from Shields

Hey, I was going through and playing Oblivion again and, as usually happens, I got hit with an arrow :wallbash: . Once more did I have to look at the arrow in my shield and wonder, hmmm? Why does the arrow go through my solid steel shield?? It was here that I though I should see if someone could make a mod that does THIS. It would be a great Mod that would make the game much more interesting to play, as when the arrows hit your shield (or anyone elses-why should your shield be the only solid one?) it just falls off as if you had shot it into a wall or a stone floor. I felt like throwing this out here just for a idea in case someone wanted to do this. Adding the mod for download at TES Nexus would be invaluable as well. By the way-Im really sorry if someone already made a mod for this, and feel free to ignore and remove my post, or tell me to do so. Any ways, just an idea.

well, I've got a feeling that's it not that hard to do, though I haven no idea how to do it.

by the way, I think it's a good idea, though not for all shields, for example, an arrow might pierce a fur shield, but bounce off an iron one

Thanks! And right, that's another great point to, is to have it go through some shields like fur or leather-that's an awesome point. It would be to cool if we could have a mod like that where this could happen. Thanks for replying and bringing to light the leather-fur shield side of the shields as well! Hopefully someone will decide to work on this, it would be really nice.

what if the arrow hits fro behind?

I guess it would depend upon the type of shield that it made contact with. For a fur or leather shield, the same thing would happen, it would probably just end up sticking into it. If you have steel, ebony, daedric, orcish, mithril, elven or even light iron, since its a full metal cast all around, you could probably just have it set the same to just fall off it when it hits. As for those type of shields, its the same material in front as there is in back. As for iron, it has a wood backing, so any arrow could stick itself in there theoretically, but if the wood isn't that thick, it could just fall to the ground as well. :D

you should ask xilver (the creator of midas magic) how he did the missle sheild spell. it does what your proposing and the effect might be able to be adapted for heavy shields.
