[Mod request] Starter items

I thought I would edit this to be more universally useful.

 

A container (backpack, barrel, crate) in the starting beach area for items. Optimally, an editable list for items so each character could have some thematic starting gear; or some OP magic items, whatever.

 

There have been a couple of similar mods lately, and I've looked at each, but I'm not sure how to go about creating something like this, thus my ask.
