Change Hireling Appearance

Larian railroading us once again into using the companion characters instead of our own is abysmal.

 

You can't even change the appearance of hirelings and for some reason they're forced into being weird undead characters, which prevents full roleplay.

 

There should be a mod to hire mercenaries from another source, without the weird undead voice, with the ability to customise appearance.

I agree, although at the very least, I would like if someone could give a Hirelings an "eeree" appearance, like looking a bit dead, or with a blueish tint like an undead would be, to really separate them from normal people.

You can't even do an all Orc party. Or an all Dragonborn party. You HAVE to use their lame characters. Why??

One of the hirelings is nonbinary.

You 100 percent wont ever get to change hireling appearance or identity because it would allow people to erase that hirelings representation. This is what people wanted.

Edit: I guess someone could make it into a mod, but when the huge backlash dropped from people on youtube theyd probably take the mod down.

I took a look at all the game files so I could add all bg2 characters as hirelings but I wasn't able to find ANYTHING regarding hirelings. It's possible the multitool broke when I tried to extract "shared" but yeah, seems there is no easy way to edit the hirelings section.

This logic is flawed, since it also prevents those same people who wanted non-binary characters from having a full party of non-binary characters. Max two, without using multiplayer to bypass the limit (Tav and hireling.) Plus, there are a number of mods that are pretty disgusting out there, like whitewashing out people of colour. So this should be a mod so that people have choice, and if disgusting people want to erase identities, that's only going to be in their own games. Everyone else can make what they want then, which is a bigger benefit.
