I'm guessing Larian was afraid if they let you access the character creator, someone might find a way to erase the representation they added to the companions/hirelings.Mods are gonna allow this regardless at some point. It's just Larian being Larian and shitting on the Character Creation once more. You have more reproductive organ options than character faces... Even if that was their "worry" they could at least let us be able to only change our Custom Character's appearance, not Origins or Hirelings. if i were a cynical man, id say perhaps they didnt want to allow appearance changes because then nobody would buy the 9.99 DLC that everyone pretends doesnt exist. What DLC are you talking about? the digital edition upgrade that isn't free for the massive amount of people who didnt buy into early access, and which gives a constant disguise self item. But that rationale wouldn't really hold given that the item's transformation effect isn't only just temporary, it transforms your appearance randomly. You only get the choose race and gender. The Mask of The Shapeshifter does NOT allow you to change your appearance. It's just an illusion spell that camouflages you as another Race. You don't get to choose how you look. It is literally a spell you HAVE TO CAST that transforms you into a Default Preset Random Race. Don't confuse people into buying something that doesn't have the use we need!
