Dashboard Dashlet's are a pain.

Firstly, I hate whichever update added the thing to the top of the screen to launch the game.

Now, onto the issue I'm having. Or several, in this case. Not huge but voice to be heard and all that. The "ToDo" dashlet refuses to appear. I have it checked in Settings>Interface>Dashlets but nothing appears on the Dashboard. Current managing game is Fallout New Vegas. Was looking for the quick "one click" way to get Archive Invalidation going rather than having to go into settings for the BSA redirection (btw, terrible name when you had the obvious "click here" for it to begin with).

 

Secondly, where is my Starter Dashlet? All I have now is this stupid "Tools" Dashlet. The launch button on Tools is tiny, there's little to no indication at a quick glance of what game is being managed, and I know how many mods are active for said managed game...how? Yes yes, there's answers to all of this if I go look elsewhere, but my point is is there a way to get this dashlet back? And if not, why was it removed? It was perfect. Showed the game, large launch button (defaulted to launch with mods) and easy way to see how many mods are loaded at a glance, the tool bars themselves were short and didn't take up...just an ungodly amount of space for NO reason...

Just a whinge but also the genuine question of can I get my Starter Dashlet back so I can ignore the stupid thing at the top of the window again?

Ever since Vortex came out, the upper left corner has had the game icon and a big launch button.

I was one of the folks asking for the profile name, and that was added. Nexusmods has an ad box, which is fair, since they are giving us the manager.

The dashboard is customizable. "Recently managed" is very useful and the way I switch regular games. I would never launch the game from there. It also shows current tools and a way to add new ones.

 

In short, I can't even see what you are asking for. Can you post a full screen shot? Just the tools section shows nothing.

Customizable? Are there any instructions on how to customize the dashboard then?  Recently Managed holds only 3 items and that's crazy small considering if you actually use Vortex you'd have hundreds of profiles by now and a stack of moddable games, meaning 3+1 active is horribly limiting.

I'd be more comfortable with "last 60 profiles used".

Also as the other  person said, knowing what profile you're in would be good, the Skyrim graphic with its white writing on the white background is pretty interesting choice of separating ui elements, its never really bothered me but i breathe skyrim so it wouldn't, anyone else though probably have no idea what they're trying to read. 



^^ this is actually tiny on my screen (i use 4k screen) so its easy to read when its blown up but its 1:1 pixels on my screen, too small to decipher when its already white on white with slight dropshadow that disappears at its native res in 4k.

Anyway, how do i get a crack at the new mod manager? haven't seen a link for it yet, cheers!
