spell ends. Anything the target is wearing or carrying is

invisible as long as it is on the target's person.

As you can see in original game spell does not require stealth checks. Sure, your target still will be aware that something is attacking it. Target can try blindly attacking position where attacks lastly came from, with disadvantage and flat D20 checks on top of that (11+ hit, lower that that miss). But in either case, invisible character still retain advantage on attack roll against anyone who unable to see him/her.
