mechine
in Data/Sound/fx/wpn You should have a file named m82 which is the rifle soundslooks like there is one 2d nonsilent fire, an two silent fire in 2d-3d2d is what it sounds like when you fire it, 3d is what it sounds like when someone fires it at you There is also 3 10mm reload sounds in the file 10mmpistolwhich is odd, Alexscorpion could have just added in new sounds with names like maybe pp2000 reloadchamber, it doesn't matter though There is the pp2000 file which is just a normal sound file for the pp2000 Then a sound for the riflesniper which is just sniper rifle reload Which means if you have problems with not hearing the rifles then check the m82 file first, it's the only one with rife fire soundsThe path is probably wrong. Also those rifles are missing 3D sound, but hopefully they are player only versonsthe silenced versions have 3d sound though Which rifle doesn't have sound, all of them? mazzuli
I tested all of the weapons included in the package and none of them have any kind of sound at all.. What do you mean by "the path is wrong" ? Is it like that the weapon sound files should be in a different folder or what? I appreciate your help. :) I can maybe live with the fact that theres no sounds in my silenced sniper rifle... Although its a bit wierd that a silencer can TOTALLY kill the sound of a .50 cal :D. I hope I can get it to work with your help. :)
mechine
Well to tell the truth Alex's Sniper Rifles sound for the unsilenced rifle is way way too loud anyway. You can change sounds by finding them in the data folder then replace them with another sound by the same name, but the path has to be the same. I'll have to check on the path for that mod in a bit I'll take a guess that it's Data/sounds/fx/wpn/ Where the files m82, pp2000, and sounds placed in the 10mmpistol file See if you can find them an I'll see if I can download that mod again to check the path I really like the vannilla lincoln rifle sound, a lot of the time I'll unpack it or another sound like the 10mmpistol, then go to the sound I wana replace click on it to turn it blue then wait a second an click again to open up the rename where you can copy the name, then go to lincolns rifle or whatever an do the same for it only paste this time which renames it the same, then drag that file in to replace the sound, without having to open up GECK to do it. You know you could get the GECK, Open it, then select Fallout.esm and AlexscorpionSnipersset AlexscorpionSnipers to Active (meaning everything in it, and everything you change will get saved) then edit the weapons to either give them sounds or find the sounds that are in the wrong place. It's a long shot but maybe those sound files got corupted in the download process Also Windows media player will play .WAV files which are the sound files for weapons like fire for example 2D means what it sounds like when you fire it, and 3D means what it sounds like when it's fired at you Pretty much the differance is that 2D is recorded in Stereo while 3D is recorded in Mono an slightly different noiseAlso 2D is like 32kHz while 3D is like 22kHz, then most sounds you download in the sound overhawl mods are like 44Khz which is why they sound good. The kHz is the sample rate. You can right click a .wav file look in the tab to the right an it will list the details. Since 3D is mono it can give a feeling of someone that fired at you from a direction, kind of like surround sound You can convert 2D to 3D with software like Wave pad sound editor which is free, you'll be asked to buy but if you decline then you can still use it less some options that you don't really need to edit stuff for fallout You can spend all day playing with sound for a weapon. I noticed that some of the mods I use I didn't really like the sound. So I Learned how to change it. I don't do it all at once though. If I notice a gun sound isn't right. I'll go fix it an keep going. Some of the vannilla sounds are lame, while some of the modded sounds are lame. It's pretty much up to the person. Something else, I think it's FOOK that did it, but whichever mod it was I don't really know, but somehow one of the rifles in the game had a 3D sound where it should have had a 2D sound. It was very bad. When I would get into a fight with a NPC that had that rifle all you hear is them shooting at you like it was 1 foot away while they are like 30 feet away. Someone that made the mod just mixed up the two sound names. So I switched the names for the 3D an 2D an it happends no more. :D It was a real game ruiner. I did make a Mod called FullAutoPistolsV1.0 that had a sound file with a read me that went into detail about how to switch an change sounds then test really fast. Pretty much it's useing the copy paste in the names then adding short cuts to that sounds file in the data folder. An example for your case would be find Alexscorpions sound file m82 right click an create a short cutthen place that short cut on the desk top, put the sound you wana replace it with on the desk top rename then drag an drop, go into the game with a save point just to test the gun. The sounds for FullAutoPistolsV1.0 turned out great, but only really apply toward full auto pistol fire. While there are a few mods with a almost endless amount of sound file in them for you to make edits to how things sound for ya. Something else that doesn't even really have much to do with this post. I've been making a lot of new guns.Or different versions of guns. When I create the gun. I also create a new sound in GECK. Pretty much I just take the 10mmpistol sound then rename it to suit the gun, Like WpnDesertEagle731_2DPlace that in the data folder in sound, even do this 30 times in one folder, in GECK you go to sounds an create a new sound linked to the one you placed, then go back to the weapon you created an select the new sound for it. The weapon is now created, and also the sound file, which you can change later while keeping the name. Right now in the 10mmPistol \ Fire file I have like 15 different custom weapon sounds for FullAutoPistolsV2.0 which isn't out yet. LOLZ But you could do this and have 10 different 10mm pistols that all sound different. Which is what we really want anyway. This is way too long, LOLZ
