Hoto
We already have a weight-limiting mod, this one made me aware of the problem.BG3 is a DnD video game, virtually ignores this fact when it comes to the looting/inventory system. Anyone who has played PnP DnD, or like at least watched PnP DnD Let's plays on YT, knows that looting is very limited in DnD, you can't loot the world empty, in BG3 you can and that is stupid and asbolutely not logical at all, but DnD rules are based mostly on logic to improve the adventure of the players. But in BG3 this system ruins the players adventure experience for what? For not DnD players? I'm not sure why the develops was going that way against DnD. In DnD rules:A character can't carry that much, he must decide what he want to loot, for that we have the mentioned mod.A character in DnD also can not simply transfer his loot into the storage chest.A character also can't just "take everything" because he has to deal with what he's collecting. This aspect it taken away from the game, because it notice it for you what you have collected. But the player should still deal with it, because otherwise they will blindly fill up their inventory with crap. My solution/ideas for a more DnD realism experience (not hard DnD, only a bit more DnD realism): 1. My solution additional to the weight-limiting mod would be to remove "take everything" from the game or if possible only in the chests in the game world itself. There are never so many items in normal world chests that you can't manually take them, so you inevitably look at every item and automatically tend to not just take everything. Otherwise you would sort out later and then the stuff is no longer at its place of origin but everywhere else.2. The second point would be to limit "send to storage", if not possible to remove that too. Limitation would be possible either by limiting this function to e.g. 5x use per small rest or by making the transfer cost gold.(3.) Furthermore, for people who absolutely want to loot more, you could include scrolls that increase the carrying limit or buying special bags which reduce the weight of the stuff in it. In general, players who absolutely want to loot a lot should make their character more strength skilled (is it based on strength in BG3?). So it takes 3 mods, 1 exists, 2 need to be made. I would prefer to make them separately so Users can choose which mods they want to use. What this can't fix is something like carry 100 light weighted but huge items, because what you can carry is not only based on it's weight. Imagine you would carry 50kg of...: An before you answer: keep in mind, this are mods, no one is forced to use them. Why I say that? Because I know how fast players are against things without thinking over it when it makes their game harder. Harder is bad, easier is never bad. Not for me, easier means often it ruins the game for me.P.S. I will also look into modding later, maybe I can to that by myself, but right now I have no clue about BG3 modding, I even play without mods. Hoto
Another idea that would fit into such a mod would be a NPC shop mod. Selling crap reduce the affection of the Shop NPC. For example rotten food, simple tableware etc. Many 1g stuff. Selling not matching stuff didn't affect the relationship to the Shop NPC. Like selling books to a blacksmith. Selling matching stuff increase the relationship to the Shop NPC. Like selling weapons, armor, metals etc. to a blacksmith. As is it in vanilla it is crap, you only can increase the relationship when you gift stuff to the NPC, even if it is only crap. Absolutely illogical and not at all DnD conform. The idea behind the above is, that when you trade a lot with an NPC and with items he is interested in, you should be able to increase the relationship to get a better prices, precisely because the NPC likes to trade with you. And the opposite should happen, if you only trade crap to the NPC, maybe it should even go so far that when you reputation with the NPC get too low at first you can't sell crap at the NPC anymore or even that you can't buy stuff anymore, even for high prices. The only way to improve your relationship would be to sell stuff to the NPC that he likes, so weapons, armor, metals etc. to a blacksmith. This would also contribute to the theme of collecting every piece of crap. If you really are in need of gold you still can collect and sell crap, but for the cost of reputation. So less likely you would do it often. That Shop NPC thing could be an extra mod.
