Dragon Age Origins not booting from Vortex

Good evening all,
I am attempting to set up a steam copy of Dragon Age Origins Ultimate with some nexus mods. The copy is functional, just finished a playthrough, and Vortex autorecognised the game folder, but Vortex cannot boot the game, and does not seem to be able to use mods; that is to say they deploy in vortex just fine, but the game is unaffected. This is an older game, and just booting on steam required some f*#@ery to get a large-address aware version of the game. Comments on the mods indicate this is a Steam specific issue potentially, though nobody seems to have a solution.

Has anyone gone through this pain? Advice appreciated.
