LE REQUEST - Disable 3D Item Preview in Inventory and Smithing, etc.

After my latest foray into the realm of modding up my Skyrim to ridiculous levels, I have run into several unfortunate freezes and CTDs. I am working on resolving them and am posting to the Help section with appropriate details.

 

I have a few random outdoor freezes and a few loading screen freezes but they are few and far between and do not hugely upset me.

 

However, by FAR the most common and most annoying CTD (Straight to desktop, no windows error, no papyrus log record) occurs when I am in an Item menu and am scrolling through trying to find what weapons I want (I play without CarryWeight restrictions so my Inventory tends to become quite massive over time).

 

I am fairly certain it is due to the amount of items/textures in the preview window possibly overloading my VRAM and the engine crashing as a result. If not that, then definitely something related to Item preview (There is no 1 or 2 weapons that cause this, this bug appears non-repeatable and random with respect to the weapons in my inventory).

 

I find myself simply favoriting everything and using a combination of "Loadout" and "SkyUI" to manage my equipment and only delve into my Item menu after saving and at extreme peril.

 

 

I would LOVE a UI mod that completely removes or disables the Item Preview from trying to load items at all. I do not know how difficult this would be to accomplish. It seems simple in description but I do not know how the Engine handles that and don't know how to remove it myself. I know the appearances of most of the important items in the game by heart. The only thing this would break would be figuring out the Dragon Claw combinations without being able to see the Claw(That's what the Wiki is for!).

 

Would any experienced modder help me with this by either implementing it or pointing me in the right direction for how I could do it myself?

 

Preferably I would just fix the bugs themselves but that seems to be a laborious process and I would like a quick-fix to apply so I can actually play this game (I spent the last week doing almost all modding, very little playing).
